Modern Symmetry

11.26 Bath 3

This spacious master bath was once dull and dated but we gave it a bright and sophisticated bathroom renovation! The clients love shiplap and it was a great addition to the room. Rustic wooden beams were added for character and texture. There is a seating area with a LED mirror for applying make-up. Tall wall cabinets rest on the countertop allowing for plenty of storage. This bathroom is a perfect balance of coastal design and sophistication. It was the ideal bath design for a Portsmouth, NH seacoast home.he owners of this unique custom kitchen wished to bring in elements experienced while traveling to British pubs and French cafés, giving the space “Old World Charm.”  Satisfying the clients’ needs in this small space proved to be an exciting design challenge. The solution included flipping the location of the previous kitchen and dining area offering longer walls and more overall square footage in the kitchen area. We off centered the door to allow for more usable kitchen space on one side. Removing a portion of an existing wall allowed room for the wanted kitchen island.

Quality fully custom cabinets were a must for this project.  Kountry Kraft Cabinetry, a custom cabinet manufacturer from Pennsylvania, was selected to craft these beautiful inset cabinets. They feature plywood sides, full undermount drawer glides with soft close, adjustable hinges, and dovetailed walnut drawer boxes.

The “Old World Charm” feel was achieved by using a number of rich materials. Four custom cabinetry finishes were created for the kitchen. The first of these custom finishes is a rustic cherry with a warm mushroom stain and rub-through. Quarter sawn oak is used with a deep walnut stain as well as a gray stain on quarter sawn oak with white glazing. A light gray paint was used on the wall cabinetry. The countertops are elegant Quartzite with green and blue undertones. The kitchen island countertop is antique chestnut, giving the piece a sense of natural weathering. A brushed and chiseled stone tile floor adds warmth and character. An assortment of bronze hardware pieces, including classic cremone bolts complete this unique kitchen.

We placed the tub in the center of the room under a window giving us wall space for symmetrical vanities on each side. The floor tile is laid in a large scale herringbone pattern to reflect the angled ceiling. The Acacia wood mirrors and oil rubbed bronze Kohler plumbing fixtures add warmth to the white room. A beautiful wood beaded chandelier hangs above the tub.

The shower fits nicely between windows in the corner of the room.  In the shower a “wood grain” tile was used in a vertical pattern to contrast the strong horizontal shiplap.

The bathroom cabinetry is Kitchen Craft’s semi-custom cabinet line used with the addition of custom cabinetry elements by Kountry Kraft. These include the blue stained floating walnut shelves and matching wood cap on the quartz backsplash. The quartz countertops are both beautiful and practical.he highlight of this custom kitchen is the smoothie station!
