Tailored Industrial

These epicurean homeowners were plagued with a narrow, awkward layout in a closed off kitchen. They wished for a kitchen remodel that would create more open work space and room to entertain guests. We worked to give them a commercial inspired chef’s style custom kitchen that still felt warm and inviting.
The use of custom cabinets by Kountry Kraft in a soft gray and a dark blue/gray paint feels welcoming and compliments the soapstone countertops. The Vermont soapstone adds character and charm to the kitchen. The rich wenge and walnut wood countertops add texture and warmth to the space. Quartz countertops are featured at the large kitchen island. A mix of brushed nickel and brushed gold accents provide the finishing touch in this kitchen blended with industrial and artisanal flare.

We needed to find creative storage for many pantry items. A large bypass door pantry with deep drawers was added along with open shelves display serving dishes. The storage area includes a pantry cabinet featuring metal mesh accents, open walnut L-shaped shelves and drawers below. There is also a bar area with wine chiller, beverage refrigerator and recycling bins.

This kitchen renovation functions like a commercial kitchen but has a comfortable feel. There is a cooking and prep area boasting a thick wenge end-grain chop block with knife drawer, trash and vegetable baskets below. The 6” deep soapstone ledge runs the full length of the Miele range wall providing a landing spot for oils, herbs and salt. The clean-up zone offers plenty of counter space at the sink and dish storage at the kitchen island.

Details like these bypass doors with mesh inserts and recessed hardware are just one example of how kitchen design can be taken to the next level with the use of custom cabinetry.
