Traditional New England Charm

This classic New England home was blessed with a large kitchen space but was in need of a make-over to help its functionality for the multi-generational family living there. The home owners often host large family gatherings and currently have three generations living under the same roof, including elderly parents. They needed multiple work areas with plentiful countertop space, open floor space for traffic flow, lots of storage, and ease of use. We provided all this while also creating an aesthetic that felt updated yet keeping with the home’s very traditional style.

The kitchen features two prep and cleaning zones with dual sinks, dishwashers, trash pull-outs, and built-in paper towel holders. Cleaning supplies are easy to access with a pull-out storage bin. These dual zones give multiple family members room to spread out while working. The cooking zone features an induction cooktop for performance as well as safety for users of all ages. Hidden away in this zone are spice and knife storage, a television cabinet, and easy access to the main refrigeration. In the baking and beverage zone you will find Subzero refrigerator drawers, freezer, tray dividers, tall pull-out storage, and an easy reach corner cabinet. A toe-kick step stool helps everyone to safely reach items above.

To create a classy tailored look we selected a buff colored inset cabinet paired with a navy blue island. Light colored Dekton countertops were chosen for durability. Natural stone was selected to abut the existing wood floor. The charming splash tile is marble with a painted traditional pattern. The custom metal hood features both polished nickel and brass, inviting warm and cool metallic tones into the space. The stained wood on the ceiling adds warmth and gives the room that classic New England appeal.

Reviving a classic New England home, this kitchen renovation caters to a multi-generational family's needs with dual work zones, ample storage, and safety features. The use of painted custom cabinetry, Dekton countertops, and painted marble backsplash tiles add character and warmth.
