CLASSIC NEW ENGLAND HOMES - OUR UNIQUE KITCHEN DESIGN

This charming kitchen is located in a historic home in downtown Exeter, New Hampshire. The client wished to make the best of the small and awkward space by utilizing a more functional kitchen design while keeping a traditional New England style to create a cozy yet functional space. The centerpiece is a classic La Cornue black range with a matching vent hood, surrounded by white cabinetry that provides ample storage. The upper cabinets feature glass fronts, allowing for the display of dishware, while the lower cabinets and drawers offer practical storage solutions. The absolute black granite countertops with leathered finish add a touch of elegance and contrast beautifully with the white cabinetry.

The small and challenging space was full of windows, doors and a chimney… all of which needed to be worked around when designing the custom inset cabinetry. The paneled refrigerator was a must to keep with the home’s traditional feel. We decided to expose the brick chimney as it adds a rustic element, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The shelves on the brick wall provide additional space for decorative items and everyday essentials. The marble backsplash tile fits the period home’s historic vibe and the wood flooring complements and warms the white cabinetry. The hanging copper pot and pan collection adds the finishing touch. Natural light from the windows fill the space with sun and create a room in which one wishes to work and relax.
