A COLORFUL CAPE NEDDICK KITCHEN - OUR UNIQUE KITCHEN DESIGN

When you have a home with an ocean view, you want a kitchen that reflects the easy, breezy lifestyle of coastal living. The previous kitchen was too formal for the new homeowners so we stepped in to create a space that fit their lifestyle and taste. It included a variety of materials, a large bowed back island with an ocean view from the sink, and a punch of color for fun!

Use of different materials became a priority in this space. The wire brushed oak cabinets feature two different finishes to add texture, warmth and contrast. The painted cabinetry is a soft turquoise paint; it’s a favorite color of the homeowners and is used throughout the home. The soffit was high so we used white shiplap to add interest. White quartz countertops are functional but also visually lite. Their simplicity allows the cabinetry to be the star. The bowed walnut counter top provides contrast and warmth to the eating area.

Details were not overlooked. Cabinetry hardware was selected in a variety of golds, white bronze, and glass. The tile splash is a softer tone of the turquoise featured on the cabinetry. Reeded glass doors obscure the cabinet contents while reflecting a wave like feel. Wire mesh drawer fronts provide more subtle texture and pattern as well as shine. Lighting fixtures with a coastal feel help complete the look.

Storage is plentiful. Both tall cabinets house appliance garages while the large amount of deep drawers offer more storage for dishware. The back side of the bowed island opens to provide off season storage. Another feature includes the pop-up concealed outlets, keeping the tiled splash uninterrupted.

Well-appointed design and great communication with the clients made this a space that is a joy to use or just relax within! Featuring textured oak cabinets, a turquoise color scheme, and varied hardware, this space offers ample storage and functionality with a touch of fun and sophistication.
