Elegant for Entertaining

elegantforentertaining (1).jpg

This elegant new kitchen in York, Maine has become a favorite gathering place for entertaining guests. Its spacious layout is open to a dining area and sitting room.  The space is flooded with natural light from the many windows and boasts a view of the pool and gardens from the sink. Custom kitchen cabinets  were selected. Soft gray and white paint on inset cabinetry was used to create timeless beauty. These soft tones are paired with a large, rich, walnut counter top on the kitchen island to provide inviting warmth to the room. The white quartz counter tops used on the perimeter of the kitchen are simple yet classic and very functional. Scale and proportion were important in this large space; a soffit aligns the cabinets with the windows and the wall cabinet doors are proportionate to the window mullions. A stunning marble tile is used at the bar area to add elegance; the same shape is repeated in the mullion doors above.

This traditional kitchen is not only exquisite but very functional with a place for everything. A large walk-in pantry and baking area are out of sight but convenient for the chef. It houses plenty of deep drawers for pans, plates and bowls. There is a tall pull out cabinet with hooks for hanging pots and pans. A flip-up door at the counter conceals a coffee center. Cabinetry on the back side of the peninsula stores games and toys for the kids. The island even has storage in the back side.  Always be aware of fresh food stock with this impressive glass front Sub-zero Refrigerator.

The bar area to the left of the main kitchen allows for extra beverage storage boasting a Sub-zero wine refrigerator, ice maker and dishwasher drawer. The beautiful geometric patterned Carrara Marble backsplash tile is mimicked in the glass mullion doors above. Details like glass hardware, nickel light fixtures and designer bar stools complete the glamourous feel in the kitchen. The home owners now have a space that is impressive yet inviting.
