This laundry room is more than a single workspace. It is a multi-functional room that provides storage while feeling bright and cheery. The owners wanted a room that not only functioned as a laundry room but also an upstairs bar for beverages and linen closet.
The laundry room is a great place to use color! We selected a bright denim blue and paired it with white quartz countertops. Light warm gray tones are found on the tile in both flooring and back splash. To add character and warmth to the space we designed a cabinet with a rustic finish on pine. Adding textured glass to the cabinet gives an antique feel. The laundry basket cubbies have stainless steel bottoms to avoid scratching.
The room features lots of storage including corner drawers, cubbies for baskets, pull-out trash and open shelves. The stacked Miele washer and dryer save space and take advantage of the rooms height. A shallow closet tucked under the eves houses the ironing board. To also function as a bar a beverage refrigerator was added as well as a deep drawer for storing taller bottles.
There is a stationary rod for drying clothes as well as a pull-down rod system that stows away into the ceiling when not in use.
